Scammers have been  focusing on members of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) with robocalls from varied numbers claiming to signify “NAR medical insurance,” the commerce group warned on Wednesday.

The affiliation is cautioning that these calls are usually not from the Nationwide Affiliation of Realtors and that its 1.4 million members needs to be vigilant.

“These calls and texts don’t originate from NAR,” a spokesperson for the commerce affiliation mentioned in a press release. “The affiliation gained’t make unsolicited calls to enroll you in an insurance coverage program or in any other case solicit your private data.”

NAR does supply a wide array of health insurance plans and different coverage options, which can be found by means of the affiliation’s Realtors Insurance Place.

Scammers focusing on NAR members is nothing new. NAR warned its members on Wednesday about an ongoing electronic mail rip-off that fraudulently asks recipients to register for an upcoming convention.

In 2019, federal officers warned that there had been a 1,100% rise in actual property phishing scams. Collectively, such scams led to a $1 billion loss in actual property transactions in 2017 alone.
