LONDON — SoftBank is contemplating transferring its colossal Imaginative and prescient Fund from London to Abu Dhabi, based on a report from The Financial Times Tuesday, citing nameless sources accustomed to the matter.
The Japanese tech big is alleged to have been “holding inner discussions” on the matter for a number of weeks. SoftBank declined to remark when contacted by CNBC.
The transfer would permit it to be nearer to Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala sovereign funding fund, which has pumped $15 billion into the Imaginative and prescient Fund. It will additionally lead to a decrease tax invoice.
SoftBank arrange the Imaginative and prescient Fund in London’s Mayfair district in 2016, saying it will make investments round $100 billion into know-how corporations worldwide. It introduced a second $108 billion fund in 2019.
